The New Conan the Barbarian Releases in May 2026 are a Sight to Behold

by Lo Terry on May 6, 2026
  • Spring in the Hyborian Age doesn’t arrive gently.

The snows pull back from the Cimmerian highlands, the trade roads reopen between Aquilonia and Nemedia, and every sellsword, pirate, and deposed king who spent the winter scheming finally has room to move.

May feels like that: the whole Conan line is shaking off the frost and charging downhill at once…and it’s coming right at you.

    Are you ready?

Your Free Ticket to the War is Found Between the Pages of Tides of the Tyrant King #0 (May 2 for Free Comic Book Day)

Conan thought Thulsa Doom was finished. The Atlantean necromancer’s dark power says otherwise.

Tides of the Tyrant King Issue #0 is Titan’s special launch issue for Free Comic Book Day, written by Jim Zub with art by Jesús Merino and a cover by Roberto De La Torre.

It’s a prelude to the full Tides of the Tyrant King mini-series arriving in September, which means it’s built to do one thing: get you hooked before the real war starts.

If you’ve been following the current run, this is the next domino. If you’ve never picked up a Conan comic in your life, this is the on-ramp as it’s free, with no commitment needed, and engineered to make you come back for more.

Find your nearest participating shop and grab it before it’s gone. These don’t restock.

Eight Years of Savagery is Reborn with the Conan Exiles Remaster (May 5)

On its 8th anniversary, Conan Exiles gets the upgrade its player base has been asking for since Unreal Engine 5 became the standard–for free.

Conan Exiles Enhanced, developed in collaboration with Inflexion Games, moves the entire game from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5. That means a full visual overhaul, smooth 60+ FPS performance, and, excitingly the Siptah and Exiled Lands maps will be  natively merged into a single, seamless world. No loading screens between continents. No choosing one map over the other. One barbarian, one massive world.

If you bounced off the game years ago because of performance issues or visual age, this is the version that erases those complaints. If you never left, you’re getting a game that finally looks as brutal as it plays.

    May 5th. Free.

Blood and Sand, Ink and Prose Wrestle Together in The Savage Sword of Conan #14 (May 6)

Issue #14 keeps the black-and-white magazine format doing what it does best — stacking a single issue with enough variety to justify the cover price three times over.

Jim Zub and Ivan Gil deliver a Conan piece built in the brutalist tradition the format was made for. Joe Pruett and Goran Sudžuka turn the spotlight on Bêlit, the Queen of the Black Coast, in one of the more intriguing character studies the series has run. And Matthew John closes things out with a prose piece centered on cruel luck — which, when you think about it, is the foundational theme of every Conan story Howard ever wrote. Covers by Alex Horley and Doug Braithwaite.

A Barbarian Walks Into a Dragon’s World with the Release of Conan x Dragonero #1 (May 13)

This one’s been a long time coming and it’s never existed in English until now.

Dragonero is one of Europe’s biggest fantasy comics, built by Italian creators Luca Enoch and Stefano Vietti over years of world-building in the land of Erondár. Ian Aranill is a professional dragon slayer backed by an empire, a bureaucracy, and centuries of institutional knowledge about how to kill things with wings.

Conan is a barbarian who once bit a vulture.

Dark forces drag Conan into Erondár, and the two warriors have to figure out whether they’re allies or obstacles before a supernatural threat swallows both their worlds. The creative team powered by authors Vietti and Enoch writing and artists Roberto De La Torre and Paolo Nuti are helping answer an age-old question: what happens when the legendary barbarian is dropped into the kind of high-fantasy architecture Howard spent his career refusing to build?

    Find out on May 13th.

Nightmares for Hire Abound for Conan in The Green God of Leng (May 26)

All across the land, people are locked in restless slumber, haunted by nightmares. Conan wakes from his own vivid night terror to find himself bound and caged–and his captors want to hire him.

Gavin G. Smith’s The Green God of Leng is the latest entry in the Heroic Legends digital series. In this installment, Conan refuses to work for the people who kidnapped him. He will escape, he will have his vengeance, and he will take their coin. Then, if he feels like it, he will save the world.

At the Heroic Legends price point, this is an impulse buy that punches well above its weight.

The Son of the Tooth Meets His Match in Conan the Barbarian #31 (May 27)

A deadly new foe is hunting Conan. A killer from the cult of the Black Stone, armed with a keen blade and wearing the teeth of old prey, is tracking the king’s spirit.

The “Son of the Tooth” is the cult’s chosen weapon for revenge, as writer Jim Zub, paired with the talents of Doug Braithwaite and Mahmud Asrar, build the kind of high-stakes clash that everyone’s been waiting for.
